Kenneth Bunting sert avec le Squadron 136 en qualité de Sgt au moment où le Squadron rejoint l'Extrême Orient. Il arrive à Rangoon, en Birmanie fin janvier 1942. Le 7 mars, son Hurricane est abattu au cours d'une patrouille au-dessus des docks. Il sera plus tard élevé au rang d'officier avant d'être promu F/O le 22 mars 1944.
