"Rocky" Main, un Canadien originaire de Vancouver, s'engage dans la RAFVR en Grande Bretagne en décembre 1939. Au terme de son entrainement, il est affecté au Squadron 46 comme Sgt avant d'être envoyé à Malte au début de juin 1941. Le mois qui suit son arrivée, l'échelon volant de l'unité est redésigné Squadron 126. Promu officier en octobre 1941, il est abattu et tué par un Me 109 le 4 février 1942 à bord de son Hurricane BV167 en même temps que deux autres appareils. Il était alors titulaire de 4 victoires confirmées.
