Bob Weatherill, originaire de Vernon, en Colombie Britannique (Canada), s'engage dans la RAF comme élève pilote le 8 juin 1936. Affecté au Squadron 213 après avoir achevé son entrainement, il est promu F/O le 8 mars 1939. Marrié et installé à Wolverhampton, il est envoyé en France en mai 1940. Le 18 du mois, il est abattu et tué à bord de son Hurricane P2536 / AF R alors qu'il effectue une mission de reconnaissance tactique dans la région de Cambrai. Son vainqueur était le Hpt Georg Mayer du 2./JG 51. Weatherill sera inhumé dans le cimetière communal de Cambrai, sur la route de Solesnes.
